Network Alchemy changed the face of phone system design by incorporating traditionally "extra" features at no additional cost:

Integrated CTI - screen-popping Outlook
CTI user application - Phone Manager
System-to-system VoIP networking
The system also delivered caller-ID to analogue telephone handsets - a first for phone systems. The system was therefore available at a fraction of the cost of traditional PABX systems.
The Network Alchemy was available in two variants:
ArgentOffice - The original format released in 1997, designed for businesses with up to 100 extensions.
Lucent ArgentBranch - Added later for larger businesses with up to 180 extensions.
