The Splicecom Maximiser 5100 Call Server Splicecom enquiry form
Splicecom 5100 System

Each 5100 Call Server can support up to 500 IP or analogue phone extensions and is supplied with an initial 4 voicemail ports and 1,500 hours of voicemail storage. Basic single-level Auto Attendant is also included.

Constructed on a Linux platform using LDAP database technology, the 5100 Call Server module is the foundation of the Maximiser phone system, hosting all call routing capabilities, voice processing, a SIP Proxy Server, H.323 Gateway & GateKeeper and integral Apache Web Server.

Supplied with an initial capability to support up to 8 analogue extensions, the 5100 Call Server unit can support 8 further analogue telephones and four directly connected IP Phones. More telephones are supported through the addition of LAN switches (for VoIP phones) and Phone Modules (for analogue phones).

Supplied as standard with 4 Basic Rate ISDN telephone lines, trunk capacity can be expanded via two further Basic Rate interfaces, dual Primary Rate ISDN (PRI)/DPNSS, SIP and H.323 IP Trunks.

In scenarios where support for more than 500 users is required, multiple 5100s can be linked together via the IP LAN or WAN to provided a single seamless system for up to 10,000 users.

The maximiser 5100 system processor unit supports up to 16 analogue telephones. When this requirement is exceeded, the maximiser phone modules cater for extra analogue devices.

The 5315 phone module provides connectivity for up to 15 analogue extensions and four IP Phones with Power over Ethernet (PoE).

Connectivity to the 5100 Call Server is achieved directly (same comms cabinet) or indirectly via the LAN or an IP WAN link for remote sites / buildings.

In addition, a USB interface is provided, allowing an external WiFI adapter to be fitted in scenarios where wireless connectivity to the Call Server is required.

Runningunder Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux PCS 60 is a personal productivity application running as either an IP Softphone or Phone Partner.

Thedesktop PCcommunicates with theMaximiserCall Server via the LAN network,enabling the PCS 60 application to "partner" any telephone device connected to aMaximiser phonesystem. Phone calls are placed as normal via thetelephone keypad, or made via the PCS 60 software.

PCS520 and PCS60 partnering

Access toWeb enabled applications, Intranet based information, IPVideo/Web Cam images, speed dials/busy lamp field/directstation select, directory access, messaging and call progress arethen all provided in a similar manner to the PCS 580. PCS 60 can also be used to partner the PCS 570, PCS 560 or PCS 100 IP phones. Voice over WiFi, IP DECT, standard DECT and GSM technologies can all be deployed to provide mobile maximiser extensions.

If WiFi is not available and voice mobility only is needed, costs for a voice grade WiFi infrastructure are likely to prove too expensive. In such scenarios, the useof IP DECT systems in conjunction with maximiser, such as those offered by Kirk Telecom, are likely to be the most cost-effective for large scale coverage and/or where a high density of mobile handsets are required.

Where a small number of users require voice mobility within a relatively small office standard analogue DECT phones can be connected to maximiser. As well as being extremely cost-effective, these DECT phones deliver CLI, Name and Called Number (depending on the size of display on the DECT Phone) when utilized with maximiser.

Splicecom Maximiser allows GSM/Mobile phones to be used as integrated extensions. Not only can calls be automatically and manually forwarded to any GSM/Mobile phones but, once received a call can be put on hold and then transferred to any on – or off – switch phone.

Mobile Remote Working gives mobile phone users access to the same facilities as a maximiser system phone. All system phone features are available by “pairing” the mobile with SpliceCom’s PCS 60 application on a laptop PC. This solution is great for homeworkers using existing DSL/VPN services. With the rise of Wireless based VPN services – this is also an ideal solution for the mobile workforce. All voice calls are carried across the GSM network, so the VPN service is only used for call control between the PCS 60 maximiser.

Maximiser’s unique architecture allows the PCS 60 application to “partner” with the PCS 520 and PCS 505 business phones – or even existing analogue home phones. Voice calls are placed across the PSTN network, whilst call control and access to system features is achieved using the PCS 60 on a PC via any existing IP VPN/Remote Access data link; DSL, ISDN or even dial-up modem. Because of this QoS is not required on the datalink.
