Charity fund raising

What Southern Communications are doing to support Cancer Research UK

Southern Communications have chosen to support this very important Charity which is close to many of our hearts.  We very much value all the work that Cancer Research UK does and are delighted to be raising funds to support Francis Benali in his IronFran challenge.

Southern Communications will be running several charity events throughout 2019 where all donations will go to Cancer Research UK (unless other Charity indicated) and we have our very own dedicated Cancer Research fund raising page where you can track our success.

Total funds raised so far this year is £2,455.64

Ironfran Challenge

Southern Communications were proud to sponsor Francis Benali in his Iron Fran Challenge and his £1 million fundraising mission for Cancer Research.  Francis Benali took on his third and toughest challenge which consisted of attempting a superhuman 7 ironman Triathlons in 7 consecutive days.  That’s a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle and 26.2 mile run daily!  He concluded this epic challenge by running in the Southampton Marathon on 5th May where he received massive support from well wishers and supporters who all helped him achieve his goal and raise £1,010,897.

There were prizes for the most miles cycled and the fastest average speed. The winner for the most miles cycled was Andy Kirwin who completed 71.56 miles! The winner of the fastest average speed was Liam Sargeant!  A massive well done to Hollie Oke who to all our amusement cycled in a rat suit!

The Cycle Challenge raised an amazing £935.99
